There is a fabulous new challenge on Carol Taylor's Group - Textile Challenges - it's vessels. I am really fired up with this challenge. This is my prototype having designed the shape with paper first to make sure it went together. My intention with this piece was to play around with shapes however it went together so well I ended up completing it.
I used hand dyed/salt resist cotton and built-in machine embroidery stitches with the addition of a small amount of Irise paper under the machine embroidery (not easy) - well you know how I like a bit of sparkle. I used wireform to get the shapes to stay as they are. I am already working on another idea using different media - black and gold - I will post pictures when it's finished.

OOO, i LOVE it when the gauntlet is tossed, the bar raised and the challenge is on--that is AMAZING And if that's paper/the prototype, the resulting textiles piece is gonna be goshdarned stunning!
