Yesterday was the first time I have been in the studio for a while. I am busy teaching my classes which takes a lot of my time but I love it.
One of my students asked about a Xmas idea. I don't really do holiday designs but I made this piece. It's a very simple foundation pieced off centre log cabin. I designed it using Electric Quilt. I have been using Electric Quilt for many years since Version 1 and we are now on Version 6 which is simply wonderful. I have some free project files for EQ5 and EQ6 on the gifts page on my website. I also use Quilt Pro to design my quilts.
I finished quilting it yesterday and just have the binding to add. I will add the block to my blog if anyone wants to make it. I won't be including instructions as foundation piecing is easy enough to do and there are plenty instructions on how to foundation piece on the web.

These are some pieces I did whilst working through the design. I didn't use them in the final piece I made for the article. This is painted and stamped tissue paper.
I like the Christmas theme that could be used anytime. The samples are great. I love to paint tissue. Sandy
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol. I like your Christmas table mat and it makes me quite ashamed of the ones I made for myself last year. That Evolon looks worth having.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful christmas mat, and nice fabrics also. Thanks to share
ReplyDeleteI love how it loks after you stamped it, it like a piece of fadded vintage material...
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a fun thing to work with. The stamped piece is my fave.
