"Reflections #2" is the second quilt in my latest series. I used my rust fabric and a commercial batik. I just cut the pieces randomly and stitched them together - this is a very free way of working but I think it gives a good result. It was very difficult to piece - probably because the rust fabric was really rusted. I haven't decided on a border fabric yet, I am still auditioning them. I think I may hand quilt this one due to the difficulty I had with the machine. I tried every type of needle in the machine and it was still tough going.

it gives mea wonderful feeling of outerspace -- of swirling movement, and distance... And there seem to be a couple of "faces" loking at me (8th column over, at joint between the first and second pieces down, and the top piece in the fourth column from the right) Quite fun to be "sucked" into the depths of the fabric :-)
Those colours look so good together and I love the design. Rusted fabric can be difficult to machine stitch I believe. All the best with the judging!

You rust fabric worked wonderfully with the batik. It's a great quilt.
