Stencilling with Markal Paintsticks

I have been busy playing with markal paintsticks again. This time I cut some stencils from freezer paper. I used both the positive and negative pieces as you can see from the images below. I folded, drew and cut the designs just as you would if you were designing Hawaiian applique designs. A but like snowflakes we used to make as children at school. I may try some of them.

The colours are very subtle and haven't photographed very well but I hope you get the idea.

I need to pop to the art shops tomorrow to get some stencil brushes. I normally have lots of them but they have migrated - a bit like Norman's socks! If I have time tomorrow I may do a little markal landscape. I will post pictures when it's done. I may write a little tutorial for these designs using the paintsticks, they are a lot of fun and could be done with any paint/pens for fabric.
