Creating a Sketch in Paint Shop Pro

I have had a few enquiries about how I created the sketches. I have included a tutorial how I did these sketches - you can find it on the left hand side of this blog under tutorials.

Let me know how you get on with it. Perhaps you can post your results on your blog and share them with others.

If you don't have Paint Shop Pro you can download a free trial - just Google PSP Free Trial.

Don't have Paint Shop but I'll try to see if something is in Photoshop elements.

Carol, thanks for the tutorial. I've spent a happy hour turning some photos into sketches. I'm not very good with the adjustment layer yet, but I've a lovely shell and a mallard sketch. I don't have a blog, so will put them on Flickr, with a link to your web site, if that is okay?

That was interesting. Flickr doesn't like PSP images. I will have to convert them and try again tomorrow.

Sandy you can do something similar in Photoshop but the result is not quite as good as PSP. Just my opinion.

Carole, I am glad you enjoyed the tutorial. I am sure your images are lovely.

If you first save the file as a PSP image (in order that you can work on it again) and then save it as a JPG you will be able to both upload that JPG to flickr and you can print the JPG.
