A little more Crochet Practice

I have been doing a little more crochet practice before I embark on Lesson 1 which I am looking forward to.

I still have some work to do on those edges and the starting chain but it's not bad for a beginner I think.

Classes have stopped now for the Summer but I am going in on Monday as my ladies are running a self led group for the coming term.  I shall go along as and when I can.  I am not sure what to take tomorrow.   I still haven't decided what colour of background to have in the new hand applique quilt I will be making.

The lace I have on the pillow is not great as I haven't mastered square tallies although the last one I did (of about 8) is the best yet.   Tough stuff.   I did want to start a new piece but I am struggling to know where to put the bobbins at the start of the piece I am hoping to make.  Such a steep learning curve.   Oh well I am sure I will get there in the end.

I still haven't planted the potatoes on the allotment yet, it has been far too cold.  Maybe I will get them in next week.  Asparagus waiting to be planted as well as some red and white onions.  At least the plot it all prepared and ready.  So glad we took the opportunity on one lovely day some weeks ago to get it all prepared.

I admire your determination to master crochet, it's something I have always struggled with. I used to do lace. I still have the pillow and all the bobbins, maybe I'll get back to it when time allows.

Okay, I have to ask what are Gimps? Is it crocheting or knitting? Do you also Tat? Your crochet sample looks very nice for a beginner.
