Here is the finished piece. I laid the fabric on bubble wrap, bubble side up, it was a wet on wet technique. The result is the texture of the bubble wrap has also transfered to the fabric together with the train wheels - and a little bit of rust here and there! What do you think?
Initially when I thought of doing it I was looking to have a piece of fabric to use as the backing for the rust silk piece but this is too nice to use for the backing ....... or is it?
I haven't painted on 100% cotton polpin and so I thought I would try it. These are two pieces I painted using fabric paints. I haven't tried acrylic yet but will before the week is out.
The have turned out quite well and will make good backgrounds for my Journal Quilts. I still have June/July/Aug and September to do. I had better get moving.

This is Fabulous Carol, makes me want to go do some
Hi Chris and Carol,
Thank you for your comments. I am enjoying these experiments and have a couple of really nice pieces. I am not sure what I am going to do with them yet, I haven't had time to think, but certainly want to do something with them.
If you can you should try it it's good fun.
Carol
I love the piece with the wheels. It turned out fab. Really want to try that one.

Hi Tonniece,
You and Dianne have some wonderful pieces to rust from. Dianne started me off on this and I have been having a ball.
