This fabric postcard is made from navy cotton onto which I made rubbings using irridescent Markal (Shiva) paint sticks. I added some punchinella with free motion stitching.
This one has a number of techniques for such a small piece. I started with a piece of my hand dyed fabric. I discharged a small section using discharge paste. I took a photograph of one of the roses DH bought me and printed it onto Inkjet transfer paper cut it out and ironed it to the fabric. It was free motion stitched. This is a sample of an idea I have for a bigger piece of work. Fabric Postcards are a great way to use all those samples you make for your larger pieces.
I am just having fun doing these. It's fun to try different paints. I used Aquarelle pencils for this one.
I also used Aquarelle pencils for this one but further embellished using Stewart Gill paints to add a touch of glitz. The Candy Kane is brilliant for adding the crystals and those little stars.I was too busy this year to take part in the Art2Mail postcard swap so I am getting myself ready for next year!

I love the interplay between the quilt lines and the shiva paint stick lines on the first FAP. The punchella adds even more contrast of line... Very very nice.
Love your postcards. They are just a nice size to try new things out on aren't they, and if it doesn't work you've not wasted too much.
