Working from Source Material

I have been busy working on some more designs. Fabric postcards are a great way to experiment since they are small and don't take up too much time.

This is the course for my first postcard. It's one of the photographs I took way back when we visited the Glasgow River Festival.

Here's the result of the image after I played around with it in Paint Shop Pro.

This image is one I took at the Botanic Gardens in Glasgow recently.

This is it after I played around with it in PSP.

I love this picture with the sun shining from the back you can see so much detail.

I didn't change it too much. There is just a hint of purple in the final image and I thought I would stitch the sating stitch border using purple thread to "lift" the hint of purple in the image. I was tempted to use green but I think I would have lost the purple had I chosen green.

its neat to see your before and after pics :-) I haven't "played" much on my computer programs for pics, but you're encouraging me to set aside some time....

It's just plain fun to be able to watch you play Carol, and It's so interesting to see how you get your source and then to see what you do with them.
These pieces as well as the one in the last post are so unique.
I really love them all.
