Valentine Postcard

This is the postcard I made for LaRinda for the LikeMindedArtists postcard exchange. The background is quilted using built-in stitches on my Pfaff and the heart is made from snippets of threads sandwiched between two layers of cold water soluble (Avalon).

I am currently working on another postcard exchange. I plan on using the Bernina embroidery unit, water soluble and various other techniques for these. I am just in the design stage. I think I may work a little bigger than 4" x 6" for these as I did the one above as it gives more scope for design. We shall see.

Lovely Carol---I like the way you have used the built in stitches on your machine to quilt with--too many people forget that they have these stitches and they go unused.

This is lovely, great colours. In Oz the postal regulations are different. We are about to do a workshop where we use an A4 size to embellish and then cut into 3 to make the postcards just under 4 inches by 8 1/4 inches. I believe in some countries they have to be the 6 x 4 size to go in the post???

Her card is lovely and creative.
So after you use the souluble do you have to wash the piece after to remove it..
Nice to see you back my dear...

great idea! I always hate to throw my thread away. and the water soluble is something that I haven't used in some time. May take that idea and run with it!

Hi, Carol,
Your postcard is lovely! I've never seen one quite like it. I'm sure LaRinda will love it!
Best wishes for the next one, too.
