Sashiko

It's been a while since I last posted. Things have been busy here, you know how it is life just gets in the way. My friend Tomoko from Japan asked to see my Sashiko. Here is a bag I made a little while ago. Sorry about it being a little crushed but it's been folded away in the cupboard.
Here is a closeup of my stitching. I have many samples of Sashiko as it was the technique I used on the covers of four of my City & Guilds folders a few years ago now and since I teach the technique to my students I have a few samples that I use in class. Sadly at the moment I can't find them. No doubt as soon as I post this they will appear!

I am trying to catch up on my Quilt Judging course and have made good progress this past couple of days. Assessment One of the Creative Computing course is still in the design stage! I tried printing my design to fabric for the book cover today - things are looking good. I still have more work to do to it but at least it is coming along.

I had a bit of an accident last Friday. Norman and I were clearing out the garage loft and a box fell from the loft and hit me on the bridge of my nose - I had a nasty gash and felt dreadful for a few days. It's healing, thank goodness, and I am feeling much better. It's quite funny when I think about it now but believe me it wasn't funny at the time!

I have a couple of challenges to get on with and time is running out. I guess I will have a busy few days ahead.

Hi Carol

So sorry to hear of your accident, Hope you didn't get a black eye with that bangedup nose. I know how it would put you under for a few days.
Good to hear that you are ok now though, and always great to see some of your work.
This is a great sample of your Sashiko. (I'll trade you drawing for stitching) LOL

I love your sashiko Carol. I have never tried it,
I hope the accident will not leave a mark on your nose. It could have been much worse and knocked you out.

Hi Ladies,

No black eyes! It's healing fine. I had neck and back pain up until yesterday but today it has gone!

I am off to the studio to do some more embellishing.
